THE Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (ZIMSEC) has dismissed reports claiming massive irregularities during this year’s Ordinary and Advanced Level exams, insisting the process is running smoothly and without any leakages.
Over the weekend, some media outlets reported that certain schools were receiving wrongly labeled question papers, others fewer copies than the number of candidates, and that some exam packages were unsealed, raising fears of possible leaks.
However, ZIMSEC has rubbished the reports, saying all examinations are secure.

“ZIMSEC issues this statement to categorically reassure all candidates, parents, guardians, and the nation that the November 2025 examinations are proceeding as scheduled, with their integrity fully intact. There has been no leakage of any ZIMSEC question paper for the November 2025 examination session,” said the examinations body.

ZIMSEC said strict multi-layered security protocols, from paper setting to distribution, have been followed and have proven effective. Any minor administrative or logistical issues, the council said, are being handled under standard operating procedures.

“We are pleased to report that the examination session has progressed very well so far. Candidate attendance has been high and the conduct in examination centres nationwide has been commendably orderly. We applaud the candidates for their focus and discipline,” said ZIMSEC.

The council also extended appreciation to heads of centres, invigilators, and security officers for maintaining professionalism and safeguarding the credibility of the examinations.
ZIMSEC reiterated that any form of malpractice is treated with utmost seriousness and anyone caught attempting to compromise the process will face legal and administrative consequences.

“The council remains fully committed to preserving the credibility, fairness, and security of the Zimbabwean examination system. We will continue to monitor the entire process vigilantly until its conclusion,” it said.
ZIMSEC urged stakeholders to rely only on its verified communication platforms for updates to avoid spreading false information.
