Source: Biti slams Tsvangirai’s ‘meaningless’ demo | The Herald April 19, 2016
Tendai Biti’s People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has slammed last week’s MDC-T demonstration held in Harare as a high sounding but useless political statement, which did not improve people’s lives.
Morgan Tsvangirai led his party’s demonstration on Thursday calling for the removal of President Mugabe, despite the fact that his constitutional term is yet to be concluded.
In an interview on Friday after a meeting in Bulawayo chaired by Biti, PDP deputy secretary-general Tongai Matutu said his party was directing its energies towards crafting sound policies instead of making political noise.
He said the MDC-T demonstration was meaningless as it did not provide solutions for struggling Zimbabweans.
“All what has been happening is that we’ve seen ‘mobocracy’ is taking place. The people using the critical masses as a basis upon which they take advantage of political power, but we believe that providing answers to solutions to the country is more critical than to gather 20000 people and subsequently gain nothing from that gathering,” said Mr Matutu.
“If you are going to call for (President) Mugabe to go, will he go after the march or after any other political gathering? Those are the issues if you’re to make any post-mortem of any particular gathering or any event. It should be measured by the results it achieved there- after.”
He said PDP is set to make its political presence felt as it was still working on its structures at ward level.
“We’re here and here for good. We’re not a second class political party. We’re a vanguard party and what we mean by a vanguard party is that we’re going to influence decisions proportionate to our size. We’re going to find solutions to issues that the nation is grappling with,” he said.

BITI IS A JEALOUS FOOL
Biti, the guy who thought that he had the numbers now finds himself with a party with no supporters.
Demonstrations happens the world over and they serve a purpose of highlighting a situation among other things.
They are not supposed to solve a problem and to think that way is very unfortunate on the part of Biti.
You don’t just criticize for the sake of it.
BITI PURPORTS TO BE AN INTELLECTUAL AND WHAT YOU SAY SHOULD MAKE SENSE TO HIM AS SUCH BUT BECAUSE HE BELIEVES THAT FOR ONE TO BE PRESIDENT HE MUST HAVE A UNIVERSITY DEGREE, THAT IS HIS PROBLEM WITH MORGAN. BITI IS A SHORT-SIGHTED INTELLECTUAL THAT IS WHY HE BROKE RANKS WITH MORGAN. HE IS MOST LIKELY TO BE A DICTATOR IF ELECTED TO A PRESIDENTIAL POSITION. SHAME ON HIM
Mr Biti is trying to be relevant in a crowded political market. Each and every party has its strategies to communicate its messages and demonstrations are one of them.Zanupf is going to have a million man demo in may and I see nothing bad in that. If Biti feels that he can go to state house with political pronouncements and writing newspaper articles so be it.You should pile pressure on Mugabe and Zanupf instead of castigating another opposition party.I don’t think you are useful in coalition talks because your motive is to ensure Tsvangirai loses out.Zimbabweans are watching you carefully and cautiously!
Surely, these so-called PDP leaders are a bunch of dunderheads. Is a demonstration, or strike for that matter, something that is unheard off; or does it mean such actions should bring immediate results, anyway? Nxaaa!
These jealousy idiots with nothing to offer on Zim’s political platform should simply go hang. In any case, are they really opposition as they proclaim, or mere zanu pf side-kicks? Are they try fool us and tell us that sitting back and doing nothing except denigrating Morgan Tsvangirayi is the solution to zanu pf corruption and dictatorship? Nonsense!
Biti has really morphed into an irredeemable and pathetic fool. Nxaaaa!!!
Biti and his ilk have a problem, they masquerade as politicians when they are not. Politics the world over is a game of numbers. S/he who summons the masses wins the election (barring rigging). These guys should not issue press statements, instead let them hold a rally in Mbare where the real people live to test their popularity. Speaking to ambassadors, business people and fellow intellectuals is misleading. It is the real people who vote and they vote for those who speak their language. Zim is no different from any other country on earth. Anyone who does not know this cannot be a political leader.
Biti and Matutu are ZANU stooges. If they were to demonstrate against Bob today only their wives and children would join them – if that. They and ZANU have been shacken by the numbers that turned up to form the sea of red that day. The demostration achieved its purpose to a large extent. No one expected the dictator to go on the back of the demo. The idea is to chip away at the dictatorship until it falls – and fall it will. To hell with Biti, Matutu and ZANU …..
The situation on the ground will either draw the likes of Biti back to the cause or sweep him and his likes back to his profession or sweep him along unwillingly if he is lucky to oblige otherwise we loose nothing by sweeping him aside, otherwise there are dozens of more capable and committed cadres than him within the cause.
Pdp, Pdp, what is this !, is it a tree, or an animal , if they r criticizing the effort being done to highlights people ‘s grieviances through demonstrating , they should go hang ,
Biti still does not get it. What’s wrong with us? People will find any pathetic excuses. Any! Please refer to Kings 1, chapter 3 verses 16-28. Quite revealing!

MDCT should never intertain those who break away from it. Biti made a political blunder and he will learn soon that polictics is completely different from a college degree. History shows that great leaders never had a coll ge d green but good advisers whom they listened to. Zimbabwe is what it now because we have someone who does not listen to good advice . I would rather vote or have Morgan than the likes of Biti, Kasukuwire , Ncube,. Biti is just like Mutambara , true dictators in making. Thanks Goid who made sure that we all die at some point. Imagine if we had Mugabe forever?
Seems Biti attacks Tsvangson more than he attacks Bob, the rumour these guys are planted may be true after all
Please Biti’s advisors advise him to seriously resume taking his prescription, because hallucinating seems to be overwhelming him
How does sound policies change peoples lives.
Am I missing something here?

How do you expect to win it come 2018 when you don’t have numbers Biti and your People Deceiving People (PDP) group? Its only real when it involves you and defined as government of technocrats. Intelligent, ehhhhh.
This Matutu Guy just embarrassed himself and his Party, his sentiments shows how shallow, predicateable and desperate Biti s Party is.Of course no one in their right mind would think the President will walk out of the office because of one demonstation. For your information Mr Matutu,it is the statement and message that is important, and you should be actually be ecstatic because,Zimbabwe s political situation is maturing, thanks to the tireless efforts of the MDC-T,its easy to point a finger and critisise, what is your Party doing for Zimbabweans besides attacking MDC-T at every chance you get.
Ha Biti urikungoigochera pautsi mwana wemudhara kubvira paya pawakaratidza ruvengo rwako kuna Morgan ndokuudza nyika yese muna 2013 kuti zanu haina kumbobiridzira musarudzo, yaka winner zvakanyatso nakanaka. Shoko rekuti wanga uri musori we CIO mu MDC iri yave kungoramba ichibvumika manje. Zino haulume chinhu
Biti ukuratidza kut uri mboko yomunhu
Its only fair that Biti should swallow his pride and come back home and join Morgiza since his political obituary was written way back. You simply cannot fight Morgan even with your superior legal knowledge as politics is a numbers game. Shame to those MPs who eloped with you and are now starving since their only source of income was taken away from them when they were chucked out of Parliament. Varikuona fires big time. Its cold out there, ask Mukoma Jonso.
Biti is right. How many of the people criticizing him are making any efforts to obtain power by mobilizing their supporters towards registration then finally voting? or is the belief that 20 000 or whatever number of demonstrators is good to win. Prepare and go to vote. Most of the sympathizers will not register to vote thinking the ‘big tent master’ will not participate. I have yet to hear of a single opposition political party even asking or putting pressure on ZEC to finalize and carry out voter registration yet the next elections are less than 24 months away. If you are advocating democracy then follow through on the processes that give you a chance towards power. Unless of course you have already decided on how to claim that you have been rigged before the election happens
Well Tswangirayi is a ZANU project; that demonstration/rally was to prove to the West that Mugabe’s government is moving toward reforms which is the reason why riot police stood by without taking any action. It was all stage-managed for Chinamasa and Mugundya’s meeting in Washington with the Brettonwoods institutions (IMF and World Bank). Who calls a rally to give a two-minute speech? Why is Tswangirayi living in a government house when he is the leader of the opposition? I am not a supporter of PDP but Biti knows what he is talking about. Those who want Mugabe to lead this country until he is 99 years old should continue voting for Tswangirayi and watch him running away from victory to Botswana.
YOU ARE OUT OF YO MIND.
