via Ireland: Missing man’s family desperate – New Zimbabwe 23/04/2015

THE family of missing Zimbabwean who has been missing in Ireland say they are “desperate” for any information on his whereabouts.

Athy resident Michael Anesu Nhema was last seen a week ago on Tuesday morning.

The 33-year-old was last seen in Branswood in market town of Athy at around 9am on Tuesday, 14 April, when he left his home for work.

He hasn’t made contact since but his car, a black Audi A4, was located by gardaí at Raheen car park in Bray at 1.15am on Friday.

“This is totally out of character for him, he has never done anything like this before,” said close family friend Brian Murimi, who headed the volunteer search at Bray.

“We are all so concerned and we need all the help we can get. We are desperate at this stage, he is a family man and his kids miss him.”

The civil defence started their search for Michael at 8am last Friday but there has been no trace of him since.

Messages of support and hope have been pouring in on his wife Tendai Mutangirwa-Nhema’s Facbook page.

“Please help me find the love of my life and father of my children,” she wrote. “If anyone has seen him or knows anything about his disappearance please contact the Athy garda station.”

Originally from Zimbabwe, Michael is described as being 1.67m (5’’) tall, of slight build, with black hair and brown eyes. No description of the clothes he may be wearing are available.

“Ever since the car was found we have been canvassing the area and putting up posters,” added Brian. “Nothing positive has come back since. Any news at this stage would be welcome.”

Volunteers from Athy, Bray and the Zimbabwean community turned up to help with the search in Bray throughout the weekend.

“The guards are looking at cctv and anything else that could help and the civil defence is continuing with their search,” he added.

“We still are trying to find out what he might have been wearing but we are calling on anyone who thinks they may have spotted him to get in touch.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Athy Garda Station on 059-8631669, the Garda Confidential line or any garda station.
