ZANU PF has won all the three by-elections held on Saturday with party secretary for administration Didymus Mutasa saying the opposition was headed for its “total demise”.

The ruling party, which is still celebrating its July 31, 2013 victory, trounced the MDC-T in Mbare, Harare Karoi, Mashonaland West, and Zaka in Masvingo provinces.

“We are going to wipe out the opposition if we manage to deliver, and this is a mandate as a party the people have given us to deliver. We have to deliver or face challenges from the imperialist opposition,” Mutasa said.

In Mbare, Maureen Nyemba of Zanu PF defeated Albert Mponda of the MDC-T with a seven vote margin, amassing 843 votes against 835 votes for MDC-T candidate.

The NCA, which was formerly a civic group led by Lovemore Madhuku, garnered 76 votes.

In Karoi, Mashonaland West, Solomon Chiwaya Musekwa of the MDC-T lost to by Fortunate Madamombe of Zanu PF by 725 against 226 votes received by the MDC-T candidate.

Tongarepi Toruvanda of Zanu PF won the by-election in Zaka with 861 votes thrashing Elias Budi Mutava of the MDC-T who got 107 while the NCA candidate received 62.

Douglas Mwonzora, the MDC-T spokesperson, claimed that his party was once again cheated through the use of voter registration slips, intimidation and the use of government food aid for political purposes.

“As a party we are happy that we still have a presence in the country, we are still alive and not dead as claimed by Zanu PF,” Mwonzora said.

My thoughts exactly how stupid can you get.Let them win 100% of the vote. It makes absolutely no difference if mdc get 49.99% of the vote.It did not make any difference when the mdc won the elections.

Lovemore Madhuku realise you are just a spoiler – without your participation Mbare would not have gone to ZPF. Get out of politics you have nothing to offer us.

Zunde nca are also committing treason. Opportunistic puppets too cowardly to take to the streets. Still dreaming of nikuv erections. Also shame on you mdc. Just boycott and get a cue from Ukraine now liberating itself. Cowards

How can the guys committed to one party and count the votes in secret lose?!?! Too bad Zimbabwe does not have an independent electoral commission. SADC would be a joke if it weren’t so tragic for the people of Zimbabwe.
