President Robert Mugabe has fired Energy minister Dzikamai Mavhaire and his deputy Munacho Mutezo as he begins a purge of Vice President Joice Mujuru’s allies from his government.
This comes as Mugabe is this afternoon expected to sack Mujuru in a major Cabinet reshuffle that will claim at least half a dozen other ministers who failed to secure central committee positions in the part ahead of the party congress last week.
Mavhaire who is senator for Masvingo province and Mutezo, MP for Chimanimani West been under fire for not only supporting out-of-favour Mujuru but they also stand accused of abusing thousands of dollars and resources from Zesa, a parastatal they are in charge of.
It has been alleged that Zesa resources were used to finance activities of the faction led by Mujuru.

This is quite hard to understand. Is RGM squeaky clean? Is not past the retirement age? Why is it everyone else and not him? Just wondering???????

Of course the alleged stollen thousands will not be returned. No Police investigations, no prosecutions. Just allegations. It is no secret money has been stollen and Government property turned to personal use in many sectors but Mugabe is not going to risk investigations because the trail will lead back to him and his wife.
A man who earns $4000/mnth as he is so fond of reminding us can not possibly afford all the wealth that he and his wife own both here and abroad without dipping his hands in the country’s coffers. Mugabe is a liar, a conman and a thief.
The allegations of theft whether true or false are a smoke screen to make people think he is cleaning his house and purging corrupt officials but anyone with two brain cells knows Mugabe is only interested in getting rid of people he perceives as a threat to his WIFE,because he knows he himself has one leg in the grave. It is no secret that Grace is pushing Mugabe to “secure” her luxuries will not be curtailed when Bob is gone.
Any Zimbabwean who thinks all this is being done for them is deluding themselves. The only winners here are Mugabe his wife and his children.
