via Paris attacks shock President | The Herald November 17, 2015
African Union (AU) Chairman President Mugabe joined other world leaders at the G20 Summit in Antalya, Turkey, in expressing dismay and sadness over the multiple terrorist attacks by the militant Islamist group ISIS in the French capital Paris, on Friday.
In his address to the G20 Summit in his capacity as the AU Chairman, President Mugabe registered his sympathy at a callous incident that left 132 people dead, and more than 300 injured, 99 of them critically.
All the G20 members states present and the six invited non-G20 members, added their voices in condemning the senseless killings.
Turning to economic issues, President Mugabe expressed disgust at the treatment of developing countries by rich nations that he said were treated as lower class.
He reminded the leaders that with unconditional and proper support, developing countries had the potential to achieve inclusive growth and development.
He noted that African countries were pressurised by western nations to accept foreign ideologies in exchange for aid.
The AU Chairman reiterated that Africa was now working towards accelerating industrial development in order to realise full benefits from an abundance of underutilised natural resources.
President Mugabe warned developed countries to stop exploiting goods from Africa.
He reminded the leaders that Africa required a controlling share in all ventures that exploited the continent’s non-renewable resources.

COMMENTS
HERGM (he)forcefully reminded the leaders that ‘with unconditional and proper support, developing countries had the potential to achieve inclusive growth and development’.
Several things come to mind: Zimbabwe has enjoyed Reverse Development over the last 35 years whilst going into debt to the tune of more than 10 billion dollars to people who thought they were giving proper support. They did not realize that the money would be looted rather than invested. he also referred to the country as ‘developing’. he should have referred to it as ‘mismanaged and looted’. The same goes for the term of emerging African economies. They should be referred to the same way. he also warned that African countries would have to have a controlling interest in any foreign Investments. If he was pitching for FDI this statement was certainly contra-indicated. Only fools would invest in a country where the controlling interest is vested in a group of buffoons with a mean IQ less than 80. (My grandmother used to warn that ‘fools and their money are soon parted’.) There simply are not enough fools with money in the world to make a difference to Zimbabwe, let alone Africa.
Maniacal/hysterical laughter.
President “saddened and shocked”
This from the man who sanctioned and glorified the massacre of dozens, if not hundreds of innocent non-combatants – missionaries and children (among others), then turned his attention to a former “ally of convenience” of an “inferior” tribe and perpetuated a Nazi style racial cleansing process on them.
And the beat goes on!
Seems so sad that our espoused AU chairman seems to be giving western countries advise but fails to implement the same ideas in his own country. He expects people to bring 100% investment and then wants Africans to control 51%. That is an unrealistic proposal. What investors need are incentives and not punishment. Zimbabwe has lost all businesses. This should mean something with about 90% unemployment. What Zimbabwe needs is to hold leaders responsible for mismanagement and corruption. Please deal with corrupt members of the government.
“expressing dismay and sadness”-comments please ‘your excellency’, on the butchering of 20000-30000 innocent civilians in the Gukurahundi. Oh dear, cat got your tongue?
