Minister of Tourism and Hospitality, Engineer Walter Muzembi, is the Zimbabwe Council of Tourism personality of the year.

Minister Mzembi was awarded the gong on the basis of the successful run of the United Nations World Tourism Organisation 20th General Assembly, which was hosted by Zimbabwe last year.

Deputy Tourism Minister, Brigadier-General Kanhanga, received it on behalf of Minister Muzembi at the awards ceremony in Harare recently.

In respect of the other awards, ZCT past president Glenn Stuctchbury took the ZCT Special Award, which is given to a person advancing the interests of the travel and tourism sector in general and the ZCT in particular.

The Rainbow Tourism Group Award for best entrepreneur was shared by Wengai Nhau of Wenhau Safaris and Blessing Munyenyiwa of Love For Africa.

The Victoria Falls Safari Lodge Tourism Group Award for best promotional material in all media went to Cresta Spray View.

Environmentalist Clive Stockil scooped the Green Globe 21 Trophy for environmental action and awareness.

    Well out of the whole miserable lot Mzembi does try but still can’t understand what he is doing in a sinking ship
