Zanu PF: Gen Mujuru plotted Bob murder

via Zanu PF: Gen Mujuru plotted Bob murder – New Zimbabwe 03/04/2015

OUSTED VP Joice Mujuru has said she will not allow her Easter Holiday to be disturbed by her expulsion from the party and allegations that her late husband was the master mind of the alleged plot to kill President Mugabe.

Mujuru was expelled from Zanu PF Thursday following claims by the party that her late husband and former national army commander, Solomon Mujuru, was behind the alleged plot to oust Mugabe and replace him with the former VP.

But when contacted by Newzimbabwe.com Mujuru brushed the claims aside saying they were “earthly things which can be dealt with in future”. The former VP is a devout member of the Salvation Army Church.

The allegations against the Mujurus are contained in a party disciplinary report which was the basis for expelling the former VP from the party.

The report claims that the late army boss together with his widow wanted Mugabe out of power and the two had been plotting for a long time.

“As way back as 2009 the government and the party was aware that Joice Mujuru and her late husband, the late Rex Nhongo Mujuru, were plotting to remove President Mugabe.

It was known to the party that they plotted to block the nomination of President Mugabe as the party’s leader at the 5th people’s congress working in collusion with provisional chairmen,” reads the report which was presented by legal secretary Patrick Chinamasa to the politburo Thursday.

The report was drafted after key contributions from the women and the youth leagues.

The report alleges that intelligence evidence shows that the former VP and her late husband wanted Mugabe out of power even to the extent of killing him.

“Even though she says she should not be held accountable for the actions of her late husband, her actions after his death in 2011 show that she was much in the plot and continued with the scheme of the husband,” the report stated.

The remains … General Mujuru’s house after the blaze

The late general died in an inferno at his Beatrice Farm in 2011 in an incident which remains suspicious to this date.

The family at some point hinted that they would push for his remains to be exhumed for a second post mortem to be carried out. But the move failed to kick off with reports saying authorities had turned the request down.

General Mujuru was one of the few people who could challenge Mugabe and at some point it is rumoured that he told the ageing leader to make way for a youthful leader.

His wife was to be kicked out as Vice President following a virulent campaign against her by First Lady Grace Mugabe.

She was to be replaced by the general’s nemesis-Emmerson Mnangagwa, about whom unhappy tales are told. Mnangagwa was in 2011 named a genocidist by Genocide Watch following a role he played in the killings of civilians in the Midlands and Matabeleland provinces in the 1980s.

The report says the ex-VP for 10 years sourced funding from an Asian tycoon for the removal of Mugabe. It goes further to allege that she was into money laundering and practiced witchcraft and sorcery for the purposes of killing the 91- year old leader.

A family member said they will be meeting to discuss recent developments particularly in the light of revelations that Mugabe was unhappy with the general who eventually died mysteriously.

“What the party has revealed is that Mujuru was killed because he was against President Mugabe. It’s sad and very sad indeed,” said the family member refusing to be named.
