THE Zimbabwe Republic Police at Beitbridge are holding vehicles belonging to Free Zim Congress Zimbabwe president Joseph Busha for allegedly flouting Customs and Excise regulations. The vehicles, second hand Toyota Land Cruisers registered in South Africa, are carrying flyers with political messages to vote for Busha as president.

Busha contested in the 2018 general elections.Police spokesman Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the vehicles were being held at the Customs and Excise yard at Beitbridge.”The vehicles are being held at Beitbridge.  The cars were carrying flyers belonging to a political party and police are investigating,” Nyathi said.It is understood however the vehicles had been deregistered in South Africa for export but upon arrival at the border, temporary import permit applications were submitted in what was seen as possible bid to smuggle.A source close said some of the flyers read “Vote for J M Busha for president Free Zim Congress 2018”.
