HARARE – Robert Mugabe has unleashed a Frankenstein which he will not be able to control!
He is behaving like a man riding on the back of a hungry tiger!
These were startling but very serious warnings delivered to the President by the late professor of politics at the University of Zimbabwe — Masipula Sithole.
Sithole’s warning came on the back of violent farm seizures by war veterans and Mugabe’s approval of their demands which were at odds with the fragile Zimbabwean economy.
While Sithole lies quietly in his grave in Chipinge, his words are very much alive.
The Zimbabwean economy collapsed and is still battling to reverse the debilitating effects of politics of patronage and reckless decisions.
Sithole’s warnings had a ring of truth and now it is coming to pass when one zooms in on the murky and increasingly dangerous Zanu PF succession politics.
By not solving the succession issue in Zanu PF and failing to end factionalism — Mugabe, indeed, has “unleashed a Frankenstein which he has not been able to control”.
Zanu PF is at the brink as a result of the internecine fighting caused by the absence of a clear plan on who should succeed him.
And this is exacerbated by the entrance of his wife — Grace — into mainstream politics.
Grace has been trashing Mugabe’s loyalists without restraint in her so called ‘thank you’ provincial rallies when most people expected her to justify why her entrance in Zanu PF politics is good for the party and by extension Zimbabwe.
Instead, there are pangs of pain amongst Mugabe’s aides and lieutenants who quietly watch as the party hurtles towards the precipice.
It is even jarring news to Zimbabweans that Mugabe did not agree with those aides such as Cephas Msipa that he had to come up with a clear succession plan yet this galling delay has pushed Zanu PF to the brink of a split.
Msipa, an influential figure in the signing of the Unity Accord between Zanu PF and PF Zapu, warns if Mugabe does not intervene, his party will rupture.
How Mugabe expects the factionalism and dogfight to end is anybody’s guess, especially that his wife is complicit in the escalating feud(ing) in Zanu PF.
Mugabe needs to listen and avert a potential bloodletting situation in Zanu PF.
Signs are that the party is gravitating towards that.
And surely he wouldn’t want to be remembered for letting that happen!

It’s not about the party per se. It’s about retaining power. The constitution is clear. When the current incumbent leaves the Presidential post, the replacement is the VP. Since Dr. Grace is suddenly up, running and gunning for the position of VP you can draw your own conclusion on an imminent presidential vacancy. It’s the folk in the background who have said nothing that control our destiny.
Mugabe’s agenda has always been personal power; now it is supreme power for Amai Doctor Mrs Grace Mugabe.
Somewhere along this personal pathway to the neglect of the nation, 11 million Zimbabweans are going to get up and kick him in his balls.
Come that day soon.
We are slowly gravitating towards war. I can smell it. My instinct tells me it won’t be long.It will engulf all of us.
Lord, we pray for peace. truly we do not want more violence. It has always fascinated me how one man can beguile so many. You see it throughout history. Us Zimbabweans must learn to NEVER EVER elevate a man: any man or woman for that matter. Only God is to be lifted up
All this soap opera comedy is a sure indication that muggers boy is on his death bed. There will be no announcement for 3 days then suddenly chimurenga chants etc will bore us to tears on zbc/ATV. Police army will be frightenly at street corners while the night of a thousand knives is going on. Rumors will be everywhere. Street revolts mob justice will find a new leader. Zpf will have killed itself off. New martyrs will appear. Criminals acre will be desecrated. Then the economy will rebound. All zpf loot will be recovered globally
The time has come for the Tokoloshe to start laughing at Zanu.
It is the time of the Tokoloshe.
Let the comics devour each other and we welcome the implosion of tarty zpf. The self destruct button has already been pressed. The final countdown.
The rapture of Zanu Pf is not only bad for the party but dangerous for Zimbabwe. We are faced with a serious mishap by an intelligent man and as always the case who can convince him. Panoshaya achamhanya apa? Zimbabweans are very tolerate but never docile. Let’s wait and see as the end draws nigh.
Anyone that knows anything about medical conditions will know that when one gets to Roberts age the most likely disease to manifest itself is dementia. Dementia is a set of symptoms that may include memory loss and difficulties with thinking and problem-solving .It is also marked by personality changes and impaired reasoning.Robert Mugabe has some of these symptoms which are clear with the way he changes or U turns on things he has said. Those that take care of him of course would try to work on a way to keep him in control in the minds of the people. Enter Grace. If he wanted her to truly be where she is he would have long prepared for this. Something is not right here. His silence is almost deafening. When he gives speeches at the UN and other places you can thing his mind is back 10 years and is having flashes of previous speeches. If people will remember he once said Mandela must be turning in his grave when Mandela was still alive. This was at an AU or SADEC meeting. This would have been when the sickness was taking hold. Mugabe contrary to what some of his followers think is just another Human that will also leave this world at some point. The problem now is having a President that is that old with a crazy wife trying to protect her way of life. His life if none of his immediate family don’t know is in grave danger from those around him. This may become apparent when those that campaign think they have succeeded with their campaign.
