Every action either promotes or damages one’s image. Each time Mugabe offers unsolicited suggestions of a trip to hell for the British PM, investors withdraw from the local bourse.
When headlines scream ‘Mugabe Gives Fake PhD to Wife,’ the PR ratings can only go in one direction. When the VP publicly claims that he is ‘trained to kill’ investors’ minds are filled with ghastly images of chaos, death and thuggery.
Attracting investors is courtship. No man ever wooed a woman with insults. Mugabe uses every available minute on the airwaves to verbally abuse the very same people with whom he expects to trade. In graveside speeches, nobody is safe; Britain, EU, homosexuals. The relatives of the deceased mourn on two fronts: firstly, for their loss and secondly, for the President’s off-topic funeral rants.
