I think that is Mugabe’s card. He knows that the generals helped him commit some of the crimes he will be impeached for. It’s a very tricky situation. One way to remove him without the embarrassment of an impeachment is to let the crowds loose on him, but that would put Zimbabwe in a bad light in the world. Alternatively they could impeach him on the grounds of letting his un-elected wife determine government appointments. She has herself boasted on many occasions that was the case. That is an impeachable offence.

If he ‘dies in his sleep’ due to the ‘stress’ of the last week they may get away with it, because the stupid citizens would accept that, believing Mnangagwa and Chiwenga are saints and Mugabe is the devil incarnate. The world would probably not be too concerned as it would be unprovable.
